The MSRC’s latest e-news is packed full of exciting stories about what is happening in the clean transportation arena and how the MSRC is contributing. The MSRC has two new solicitations available. The Natural Gas Infrastructure Program has $4 million available for new and expanded CNG, LNG, and L/CNG infrastructure. The Major Event Center Transportation Program is offering $5 million for projects to help reduce the number of vehicle trips to major event venues not adequately served by public transit. The solicitations close on June 29, 2018 and March 30, 2018, respectively.
Spotlighting one of the latest MSRC-funded projects, the City of Westminster celebrated the opening of 15 new electric vehicle charging stations, including one Level 3 Fast Charger. The City invested in this project in the hopes of helping more of its residents consider driving electric vehicles and to become part of the local charging network in Southern California.
Building on the electric vehicle theme, the final article highlights what California’s major investor-owned utilities are doing to help expand electric vehicle charging infrastructure throughout California. PG&E, SDG&E and SoCal Edison have proposed to invest $1 billion over the next five years to help ensure California’s target of having 1.5 million electric vehicles on the state’s roadways by 2025 is achieved.
