Southern California Baseball is Back, and so is the MSRC to Get You There

April kicks off the 2017 baseball season for both the Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, which means thousands of baseball fans will be traveling to Dodger Stadium and the Big A and looking for options to avoid the traffic nightmare. Luckily, the MSRC is back to once again offer cleaner transportation options to get fans out of their cars and onto public transit to get to the games faster and cleaner. For the seventh consecutive year, the MSRC is providing Clean Transportation Funding to Metro to operate the Dodger Stadium Express, offering game-day ticket holders a free roundtrip ride on clean-fueled CNG buses to Dodger Stadium from Union Station via a dedicated express lane along Sunset Boulevard. Buses leaves Union Station every 10 minutes, starting 90 minutes before game time through the 3rd inning for all home games. Additionally, service is available from the Harbor Gateway Transit Center to bring fans up from the South Bay, with buses running every 20 minutes starting two hours before game time. Last season, the MSRC and the Dodger Stadium Express and celebrated its one millionth rider. More information is available here: The MSRC is funding the Angels Express train service for a fifth year. In 2015, ridership peaked with 50,000 fans riding the special Metrolink service to the Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (ARTIC) that is adjacent the stadium on the Orange County Line from Los Angeles Union Station and from the Laguna Niguel/Mission Viejo station for weeknight home games. Service from Riverside County runs for Friday night home games with a transfer at the Orange train station to ARTIC. Metrolink's goal is to use Tier 4 locomotives (which reduce particulate matter and NOx emissions by up to 85 percent) whenever possible for the Angels Express. A roundtrip adult ticket is only $7. Information about the service can be found here: So whether you root blue or root red, all fans can root green for cleaner air with the Dodger Stadium Express and Angels Express.
