The Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee (MSRC) has $3 million available for the Hydrogen Infrastructure Partnership Program. As the California Air Resources Board and South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) have documented the need to transition to zero and near zero emission vehicles and fuels in order to meet our air quality objectives, and in support of Governor Brown’s Zero-Emission Vehicle Executive Order to create 200 hydrogen fueling stations by 2025, the MSRC is helping agencies make this transition by offering incentive funding to expand the access to hydrogen refueling to support the deployment of these vehicles.
Eligible applicants include established MSRC infrastructure partners - the California Energy Commission, SCAQMD, and the California Air Resources Board - as well as public and private entities who want to build new or expand existing hydrogen infrastructure. The program is designed so there will be at least one hydrogen station project in each of the MSRC’s four county region (LA, Orange, San Bernardino, Riverside Counties).
Applications are due by April 10, 2020, but stakeholders are encouraged to apply early. In order to make the application process easier, initial submissions of an entity’s Hydrogen Refueling Station Concept Description will be brief and follow a set of short guidelines provided in the RFP. Following the MSRC’s review process, selected applicant will be requested to submit a full proposal for consideration.
