Project Background

Contractor operated four (4) vehicles in the implementation of their shuttle service between the Norwalk/Santa Fe Springs Transportation Center and the Metro Green Line Studebaker station in the City of Norwalk. Contractor is converting four vehicles, three to be in service and one spare. The original fuel was to be Compressed Natural Gas, but due to conversion difficulties, propane was substituted.

Project Implementation

The cities of Santa Fe Springs and Norwalk were the primary recipients. The areas around the two cities, along the routes of the shuttles, will benefit from the reduced emissions.

Project Results Description

It is estimated that 9,515 pounds of NMHC, 156,327 pounds of CO, and 10,236 NOx will be eliminated annually as result of shuttle implementation.
