Contract Number

MSRC Award
$2,000.00
Project Background

Contractor purchased and installed a universal card reader for a compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling station. The City of Covina and the City of Long Beach combined technological information to utilize the same computer and software systems to handle billing for the fueling station. The station is accessible to the public. The creation of credit cards and integration into a workable computerized billing system required considerable time and effort. It was made compatible with credit cards issued by the Southern California Gas Company. At the time of the final report, the City of Covina was negotiating with other cities and organizations who would be potential users.
