The City solicited competitive bids and awarded the bid to the lowest responsible bidder.
The objective of the project was to purchase five medium-duty Ford F-150 compressed natural gas (CNG) pick-up trucks with service style bodies. Vehicles will utilize the 5.4 liter 195 HP V-8 engine. Refueling of the vehicles will take place at the CNG station operated by Sunline/ENGR located within the City of Indio. The pick-ups will be used by the City's Streets Department for general maintenance.
The City purchased four of the five planned vehicles and has placed them into service.
