Your Chance to Offer Funding Ideas to the MSRC is Here!

logoThis June and July, the MSRC will once again be holding a series of six regional workshops to provide clean transportation stakeholders with the opportunity to provide ideas and feedback on the types of projects in which they would like to see the MSRC invest during the next round of funding.

Six workshops will be held in the four Southern California Counties serviced by the MSRC: Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. The workshops provide a unique opportunity for stakeholders to share their ideas and recommendations about how to optimally allocate millions of dollars in Clean Transportation Funding. The MSRC’s Work Program is made up of the projects that the MSRC will support for the upcoming funding cycle.

“These workshops are a great time to meet with the innovators who are working on clean transportation projects that improve our health and air quality on a day-to-day basis and hear what their real-world needs are,” explained Greg Pettis, Chair of the MSRC. “At our last series of workshops, we heard repeated requests for more funding for investing in cleaner medium-duty vehicles and for bicycle related projects. As a result, we offered funding for these and other innovative projects.” Last time, more than 140 public agency, non-profit and private sector representatives participated in these workshops.

boardThe workshops provide a unique networking and information gathering opportunity for anyone involved in applying for and/or implementing clean transportation policies or programs. The workshops also will feature a brief presentation from an air quality specialist from the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) on the current and future air quality challenges facing Southern California.

The MSRC strongly encourages anyone concerned about cleaner transportation options - from either the public or private sectors - to attend one of the upcoming interactive workshops to share their views. The workshops are free but do require an RSVP, and space is available on a first- come, first-served basis.
