This summer, the MSRC was honored to support the 2015 Special Olympics World Games by providing Clean Transportation Funding to operate compressed natural gas (CNG) buses so that many of the athletes and delegates could ride on clean fuel buses that got them to and from their events without polluting Southern California’s air.
The Special Olympics was the biggest event hosted in Los Angeles since the 1984 Olympic Games. More than 6500 hundred athletes from 177 countries participated making it the world’s largest sports and humanitarian event of 2015.
