As the Los Angeles Dodgers begin their march toward the World Series this week, the MSRC will be there right along with the team and their fans by providing clean transportation to the stadium with the Dodger Stadium Express. The MSRC has approved additional funding to continue the Dodger Stadium Express for home games throughout the playoffs, and hopefully, for the World Series.
Because the playoffs are expected to draw record crowds, even more fans will experience the benefits of riding these buses to the stadium. These express buses operate on compressed natural gas and use a dedicated bus lane to travel roundtrip from Union Station to Dodger Stadium, which gets people to and from the stadium faster. It's free to ride with a game-day ticket or $1.50 each way for those without a ticket. The service will operate with expanded hours to accommodate the large number of fans that are expected. The post season Dodger Stadium Express will start on Sunday, October 6, when the Dodgers take on the Atlanta Braves at home in game 3 of the National League Division Series.
Avoid traffic jams, skip paying for stadium parking and help contribute to cleaner air by riding the Dodger Stadium Express. By not driving to the stadium and instead taking the Express, riders will help alleviate traffic congestion and stop and go traffic, which can burn large amounts of fuel and emit excessive levels of air pollutants. And the positive impact on air quality is even greater if fans also take public transportation to get to Union Station to catch the Dodger Stadium Express.
