Dr. Bill Robertson brings both vehicle emissions technical and policy expertise to the MSRC. He first joined the MSRC as an alternate this summer and formally became the CARB (California Air Resources Board) representative on the Committee in September.
Starting in January 2024, two groundbreaking regulations adopted by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) will help bring more zero-emission heavy-duty trucks to California’s roadways. The Advanced Clean Trucks (ACT) rule, approved in 2020, and the Advanced Clean Fleets (ACF) rule adopted in April 2023, both have provisions that commence next year to expand the availability of zero-emission heavy-duty vehicles and require certain fleets to make these vehicles a part of their operations.
The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s (Metro) Orange Line Fleet Electrification Project is continuing to bring cleaner air to residents in the North San Fernando Valley. The MSRC provided $2 million in Clean Transportation Funding to Metro to help purchase 40 new 60-ft zero-emission New Flyer buses to help the agency fully transition its Orange Line to using only electric buses.
