Clean Air Roadmap - March, 2020
The Department of Transportation in the City of Los Angeles (LADOT) is on a mission to convert its entire fleet of transit buses to zero-emission by the time Los Angeles hosts the 2028 Olympics and Paralympic Games. On February 24, LA Mayor Eric Garcetti announced that the record-breaking order of 155 electric buses is slated to be in service in the next two years.
The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) recently completed an extensive program to improve biking infrastructure throughout Orange County, thanks to $836,413 in Clean Transportation Funding from the MSRC. Four bikeways throughout the County were given facelifts by constructing new bikeways, installing lighting and upgrading the classes of bikeways to improve safety.
The City of Los Angeles Bureau of Street Lighting (BSL) has a new, innovative curbside electric vehicle (EV) charging program that co-locates chargers with existing infrastructure to make EV charging more accessible to the public. The BSL has already installed more than 280 EV charging stations on light poles throughout the City.
