Sunset Property Services purchased three compressed natural gas (CNG) Tymco 600 street sweepers for use in their residential street sweeping operations. The dedicated CNG vehicles were purchased in lieu of diesel fueled street sweepers. The vehicles also include vacuum regenerative air systems, resulting in reductions in particulate matter emissions that typically result from street sweeping operations.

The areas within South Orange County, including Mission Viejo, Lake Forest, and the community of Rancho Santa Margarita directly benefit from this project. However, given that NOx emissions are ozone precursors, the inland areas of Orange and Riverside Counties also benefit from the reduction in criteria pollutants.
Estimated annual emission reductions attributable to this project are as follows: Oxides of Nitrogen (NOx): 6,349 pounds
