The most recent edition of the MSRC’s electronic newsletter Clean Air Roadmap highlights a number of clean transportation initiatives being implemented by the MSRC and its project partners. The MSRC celebrated the MSRC-funded Dodger Stadium Express with Metro and the Los Angeles Dodgers on August 11. MSRC Member Jack Kitowski threw out the first pitch to celebrate the 9th year of the service that has transported more than two million fans to-and-from Union Station to Dodger Stadium, helping take cars off the road and reduce air pollution.
The e-news also provides a preview of the upcoming “Meet on Beach” event set for November 7. The MSRC is helping to fund the Open Streets event in Orange County where seven cities – La Habra, Buena Park, Anaheim, Stanton, Garden Grove, Westminster, and Huntington Beach – will be hosting a multi-community festival to celebrate active transportation along a 21-mile stretch of Beach Boulevard. Events will include biking and pedestrian activities, music, food and workshops for the tens of thousands of community members expected to attend.
Finally, you can learn more about plans to expand the most utilized hydrogen station in California at UC Irvine. The expansion will allow more than 800 kg/day of liquid hydrogen to be delivered from four new fueling dispensers, which can fuel approximately 8,000 vehicles on a monthly basis.
