The MSRC has an exciting new funding opportunity that it’s hoping will draw in creative ideas from far and wide across Southern California.
The Transformative Transportation Strategies and Mobility Solutions Program Opportunity Notice is a call to action for local businesses, nonprofit organizations and public agencies to submit a proposal for innovative “people” mobility ideas - those which go above and beyond traditional transportation demand management strategies.
“The MSRC is looking for outside-the-box ideas to more effectively move people throughout the region, all while reducing air pollution from their transport,” said Larry McCallon, Mayor of the City of Highland and Chair of the MSRC. “The MSRC has always been innovative in its approach to clean air projects, and looks forward to seeing what cutting-edge ideas are out there to get people moving in a cleaner, more efficient manner.”
The MSRC is seeking submissions ranging from a concept paper to a full proposal for projects focused on “people movement” that will reduce vehicle pollution and provide new and innovative ways to get people who live, work, and play in the South Coast Air District where they need to go.
The funding will act as an initial investment to launch the mobility concept or strategy. Key objectives of the program include attaining a transformative outcome that will result in a permanent and sustainable change in human mobility, and ensuring the mobility strategy is replicable within the South Coast Air District.
The Transformative Transportation Strategies and Mobility Solutions Program has up to $3 million available. Submissions are due by August 5, 2022. Please visit the MSRC’s website for more information: http://www.cleantransportationfunding.org/current-rfps-solicitations
