The Community Action Partnership of Orange County (CAPOC) now has a green vehicle to service its green Energy & Environmental Services Department, which provides energy conservation, weatherization, utility assistance and other services to low-income residents in Orange County. Helping at-risk populations in Orange County since 1965, CAPOC had been looking for a way to add a green vehicle to its energy fleet, believing that it only made sense to have a clean fuel vehicle lead the fleet of trucks serving home weatherization program clients.
Two years ago, Fox Transportation developed an innovative proposal called “Imagine” -imagining that the company could make one million deliveries using only alternative fuel vehicles. Today, with the help of the MSRC, Fox Transportation CEO Mike Fox’s imagination is becoming a reality with the rollout of 20 new CNG 16-foot delivery box vans.

The MSRC, in partnership with the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD), is helping to make owning a CNG car that much easier. Thanks to Clean Transportation Funding from the MSRC, drivers of CNG vehicles in the South Coast Air District can receive a $2,000 incentive toward the purchase and installation of a Phill, a compressed natural gas appliance that can be mounted to the wall of a garage, carport or placed outdoors for convenient home refueling.
