The MSRC's 2005-06 Diesel Exhaust Aftertreatment Retrofit Program funds 50% of the cost of purchasing and installing a CARB-verified particulate trap or diesel oxidation catalyst, not to exceed a maximum of $4,500 per qualifying vehicle.

The City of Los Angeles will install diesel emission control systems on 41 ultra-low sulfur diesel powered solid resources collection vehicles. The 41 vehicles are part of a fleet of 116 ultra-low powered vehicles purchased by the City in 2005. All 116 vehicles were built with 2005/2006 Peterbilt 320 chasis, 10.3L Cummins ISM diesel engines, and 70-gallon fuel capacity.
Porject is complete. Forty one (41) diesel exhaust aftertreatment devices were installed on the ultra-low sulfur diesel powered solid resource collection vehicles in late 2006. The 41 vehicles were immediately returned to service after installation of the devices.
